Support for Trevor Kurjiaka
Donation protected
On August 29th, 2022, my son, Trevor Kurjiaka went to work feeling unwell. He had to leave work due to shortness of breath while experiencing quick heart palpitations. His fiancee, Katie, had to take him to the local Emergency Room. There, Trevor needed an X-Ray, multiple ultrasounds, EKGs, and CT Scans. Through those tests, his doctors discovered that Trevor had been in an AFib episode with his heart rate exceeding 220 bpm. Trevor ended up spending five days at Middlesex Hospital’s Critical Care Unit. The left side of his heart was only working at 10-15% compared to the 50-55% needed to supply his body with blood. Doctors believe this was brought on by a rare circumstance related to a recent episode of COVID-19. To correct his AFib, Trevor needed a few procedures, including his heart needing to be reset by cardioversion. Subsequently, he was diagnosed with myocarditis, pericarditis, pleural effusion, AFib and congestive heart failure. While Trevor is strong and motivated to get better, he has significant life-altering challenges, including change in diet and limited activity, wage loss and extensive medical bills. He currently wears a life vest defibrillator. Trevor’s friends and family would greatly appreciate any donation to help relieve the burden of financial worries, including mortgage groceries and everyday expenses to help support Katie and him on his path to wellness. He has a beautiful life to look forward to marrying his sweetheart Katie in March 2023.
