Support for Trevor and Katelyn

Donation protected

Trevor was driving home from work Friday evening, probably planning a fun weekend of frisbee golfing, doing home projects, or just spending time with his family.
Being a diabetic, a long day at work can take a toll on his blood glucose levels.

Katelyn had talked to him after work and could tell something was wrong. She left her home to go help him get his blood sugar levels back up and get him home safely.

The safe return home sadly did not happen. Katelyn was first on scene. He had a hypoglycemic episode while driving on the highway. Trevor crossed the opposite lane of traffic, jumped the ditch berm, and collided with a tree. This caused his car to flip around 180 degrees, sending him halfway through the windshield. In order to prevent a diabetic coma, Katelyn cut his insulin cord and with the help of an angel nurse witness and another witness, helped him remain calm as he was obviously hurt badly. In the meantime, someone had called 911.

Trevor was transported to the hospital in Boise where he is being treated for 8 broken ribs, a punctured lung, a bruised heart, and a small spine injury. He is sedated and on a ventilator.

Doctors are hopeful and happy to report no known head trauma or brain trauma at this time. Trevor can respond to yes or no questions and can move his legs and arms in response to questions.

The road to recovery will be long and painful. Katelyn and Trevor have been through enough pain recently with Katelyn's diagnosis of Thyroid Cancer.  After removal of her thyroid, she is a survivor but now has to undergo radioactive iodine treatment.

No one ever deserves to go through something like this...especially these two. Trevor is a mentor for many children with mental disabilities, a friend to many, a husband, uncle, and a great brother-in-law. It's important for me to mention that last part because I have seen firsthand his charitable nature as he loves and serves EVERYONE around him. He's the first one to offer to help make a meal, play with my kids, entertain his cousins, and love and serve his wife.

Trevor and Katelyn have a great support circle. They will have physical and financial support from family, but I know others want to help. The idea behind this gofundme is to provide support and relief for Katelyn so she doesn't have to stress about making her mortgage payment or paying hospital bills right away. Prayers and fasting are equally important and appreciated.
