Support for Trayc - Revamped Sept 2024

Hello! My name is Amanda, and I'm setting up a fundraiser for Trayc.

As you might know, Trayc and her fam have had some tough blows in the last few years. Trayc has been working like a queen to do side jobs and make ends meet. To say she is made of pure determination is putting it lightly.

However, as shit keeps going down, many of us have let Trayc know that it is okay to ask for help. Even though she's been able to keep things together, and even though spirits remain pretty high. And so she is.

Below you'll find a timeline and the story of what Trayc has been dealing with. Each of these events have built on the last and led to lost wages, increased costs and a lot of stress.

In 2021, Trayc's sister and mom moved to the Pacific Northwest. Her sister had been a full time caretaker for Trayc's mom, who lives with significant mental illness. And then crises started rolling in.

December 2021: Trayc's sister was diagnosed with MS; the family had to pivot and Trayc juggled 3 months of unexpected caretaking with work.

March 2022: Trayc's sis had been unemployed due to MS; Sis and Mom are at risk of homelessness and so Trayc bought a house for them to live in.

April 2022: Trayc started feeling really, really sick.

August 2022: Trayc was diagnosed uterine fibroids and severe anemia; starts receiving treatment. For months prior, she had been bleeding every single day, sometimes quite profusely to the point of passing out.

September 2022: Trayc started witchy pop ups to sell brews she made to cover medical expenses.

December 2022: Trayc had her first surgery to remove a fibroid that was contributing to illness and anemia: the surgery was unsuccessful.

January 2023: Trayc has a second surgery to remove the fibroid; it is successful. Trayc did another witchy pop up market to cover more medical costs/lost wages.

February 2023: Trayc's sister moved to drier climate to get a reprieve from her own symptoms, making Trayc the sole caretaker of her mom, who lives an hour away; in this time period Trayc also needed $1400 worth of dental work.

March 2023: Trayc, mom and the farm crew get Covid.

April 2023: Trayc was in a bike accident. She dislocated her shoulder, broke her humerus, tore her rotator cuff and bicep and sustained significant nerve damage. Trayc had to have emergency surgery and was deemed unable to work for an extended period of time as she had limited motion in her arm and has a job that requires both arms.

She was able to qualify for 12 weeks Washington paid family medical leave and began intensive physical therapy.

July 2023: Trayc's arm is not healing on the anticipated timeline. Her surgeon diagnoses frozen shoulder and slow repairing nerve damage letting Trayc know she will need to be out of work until at least January 2024.

Up until recently, Trayc has been able to squeak by with her witchy pop up markets, but her injury makes these difficult and something has to give.

In the coming months, Trayc will be able to work part-time and cover her city expenses (apartment rent) but everything else will be a challenge. It is not a good time to search for alternative work as many moving parts are tied up with current insurance benefits.

We are asking to raise $7500 to cover four months of costs plus a little to offset debt and gofundme fees. This includes:
-gas + caretaking of mom (about $250/month)
-food and sundries herself and mom (about $400/month)
-Trayc's contribution to the mortgage for moms house (about $340/month)
-utilities (about $100/month)

Anything over the ask will help to further offset the $4500+ debt accrued over this last year dealing with sickness, caretaking, recovery from surgery etc.

All of this goes incredibly far when it comes to lifting some of the stress so that Trayc can do the healing she needs to do.

Infinite thanks for reading, sharing and contributing
