UPDATE 10/11:
Travis is home! ❤️
He is working with a physical therapist, and his mobility is improving with each day. Travis is very humbled with the outpouring of support for both himself and his family. He’s asked me to thank each and every person who has donated to us, prayed for him, and called or texted to check in on us.
Travis still has a long road ahead of him, we ask that you please continue to keep him in your thoughts. Any additional donations made through this gofundme or other donation services will continue to pay for necessities such as upcoming rent payments, vehicle payments, and groceries to keep us afloat until we have a better idea of when Travis will be returning to work. Travis is had an unrivaled work ethic and is already wanting to return to his occupation, but he understands that rest and recovery will be pivotal for his return
Thank you guys so much. If ever there were a time where our faith has been restored in the power of prayer, community and a compassionate humanity, it has been over the last few weeks and counting.
UPDATE 10/1:
Hi Friends and Family,
Update on Travis: Today marks 2 weeks in the ICU but we are hopefully that he will be discharged in the next few days. We are so fortunate that Travis is making a tremendous recovery despite the injuries he encountered. His PT team has cleared him for home care. Unfortunately, Travis does not have health insurance at this time and we cannot find a place that will accept him for rehab and physical therapy needs and he will have to do this at home on his own. Due to not having insurance the hospital will not provide him with a wheelchair, and he cannot walk further than a few steps on his own. If you or anyone you know has a wheelchair Travis can have or barrow please reach out to Sara and we can make arrangements for pick up. Travis and Sara also live in a two story condo and as you can imagine Travis is not able to walk up the stairs. Luckily they do have a bedroom on the bottom floor but Sara is looking for a full or queen sized bed frame and mattress that Travis can use until he is able to get up the stairs on his own. Again, if you or anyone you know is looking to part ways with a bed frame/mattress please reach out to Sara. We appreciate all your help, support and prayers!!
UPDATE 9/21:
Sara and the girls are overwhelmed with the amount of generosity from our family, friends and community!
Update on Travis:
Surgery went well for his open book pelvic fracture. His tubes were removed and he has stable vitals. He is able to sit up out of bed for short periods of time. He is coherent and able to speak, his memory is strong but he doesn’t remember his accident. Which we think is for the best.
Unfortunately, he did have a small stroke in the cerebellum of his brain. He is having trouble with the coordination of his right hand for things like eating/drinking. However, he has began physical therapy. Although Travis has made great strides in the last couple of days, he is still in a lot of pain and it is uncertain when he will be able to come home. He has a long road ahead of him and his recovery will be extensive. It is uncertain when he will return to work. Any donation big or small will help Travis family with basic living needs for the next several months. We appreciate your support and please continue praying for Travis and his family!
On September 17th Travis was involved in a horrible jet skiing accident at Rollins Lake. Travis was medivaced to a hospital in Roseville where he has sustained multiple facial fractures, basal skull fracture, C7 vertebrae fracture and an open book pelvis fracture. He was immediately intubated and has received multiple CT Scans that are showing internal hemorrhaging. As of this morning he is having emergency surgery for his pelvis. Travis clings to his life for the love of his wife Sara and two daughters Aria and Abigail. Travis is a loving father and husband and the sole provider for his family. At this time we are hopeful that Travis will make a full recovery but he will have a long road ahead of him. We are asking for support from our family and friends to help Sara and the girls with any financial burden and Travis recovery needs.
At this time please allow Travis and Sara time to process the trauma. Thoughts, prayers and any donations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
