Support for Travis and Jessica

My name is Amber. Jessica is my sister, Travis is her husband, and their whole world changed in October 2021. Travis had some low back pain that got worse and ended up radiating down the front of his legs. He went to an ortho walk-in clinic thinking it might be a sciatica issue. They put him on a steroid which helped the pain tremendously. But the pain came back after he was done taking it. He had an MRI done on October 15th. That day we found out he had something in his back. He was told he would be referred to oncology for a biopsy, but nothing was available until a week and a half later, just for a consult. He was able to get in with a spine specialist much sooner; CT scans and a biopsy on the lesion in his back were ordered to be completed ASAP. The CT scan showed several enlarged lymph nodes in his chest, abdomen and pelvic area. Travis and Jessica met with an oncologist on October 29th for the biopsy results. The results weren’t 100% definitive, but Travis was diagnosed with cancer. It was after this visit that they decided to cancel their wedding originally scheduled for September 2022 and get married November 20, 2021! The whole wedding was planned in three weeks, and it was beautiful!

 

After some setbacks, procedures, and the definitive diagnosis of b-cell lymphoma (Non-Hodgkin's), Travis started chemotherapy on December 1, 2021. After two rounds of chemo, he began fighting a fever. Travis was admitted to the hospital on January 2, 2022, with pneumocystis pneumonia and sepsis. As of today (January 7th), Travis is still in the hospital and slowly making improvements. He will be able to go home with oxygen once they can get him down to 3L.

 

Travis and Jessica have 6 children to support and have had many other unexpected expenses come up during this time. Any help is very much appreciated to assist with medical bills, living expenses, food, etc. Continued prayers for the whole family are also greatly appreciated!
