Hello dear friends, I never thought I'd be in a position where I'd ever need to ask my friends and community for money. But here I am. I hope I can explain the losses I have experienced in this past couple of weeks.
My name is Tracy Porter. My family farm, built in the 1890s bu my Great grandfather and Grandpa, lovingly known by everyone, Ed Johnson, burnt with everything in it, including my 4 puppy dogs. On Saturday, August 30th, at 10 am, we were all snuggled up in bed beginning a movie. All my animals, my fiancé, and myself were there when I noticed the hallway turning yellow in a haze. By the time my fiancé got out of bed and downstairs, the house was turning black with smoke upstairs. Our sweet doggies, Gem, Puck, Diamond, and our 6-month-old Bernese Mountain puppy, Harvester, all died in the fire.
Eric and I just got out in time. Within minutes, I watched my family home with every memory and everything I cherished burn before my eyes.
The farm was not insured as I did not make enough to afford the cost to insure it. This was my home of 6 generations, and my beautiful mom, Linda, my dad, Lance, my daughter, Solei, my son, Gage, my grandchildren, Finnigan and Sylvia, and Eric, fiancee of 5 years, are just devastated.
We are in such grief right now, working through so much and having to start completely over with just the clothes on our back.
I know so many have given me strength, and I have faith in hope. I know something will come out of this horrific nightmare. If anyone is able to help, no matter the size of the donation, I would be forever grateful. We are going through the battle of our lives right now, and any support can make a life-changing difference.
