Support for Tornado-Struck Iowa Family
Donation protected
Update 6/6/24: The outpouring of donations, shares, messages and prayers have been heartwarming and very appreciated. I want to THANK every one of you!!!! I know God’s plan is much bigger than mine and I know he has put each of you in my path for a reason. We have been cleaning up, salvaging what we can and clearing debris.
I’m Kim Straw, a small town Iowa girl, that has lived in Villisca Iowa most of my life. We live in the country and we were struck by a tornado as many others around us. We are fundraising to help us retain living quarters after a tornado swept through our property. Although we are fortunate to not have lost any human or fur baby lives, we lost all of our out buildings, trees, service electrical pole to our house, car, truck, 1/3 of our house and much more. We cannot rebuild our house as our insurance was canceled back in November. Reason for cancellation: we were remodeling our house and had put all new windows in, except 3, new insulation and Tyvec before it got to cold to finish and our insurance company came in inspect the house, it wasn’t finished so our insurance was dropped. It’s rained too much for us to finish it this spring thus far. We are devastated to say the least. We do most of the work ourselves while we both work full-time jobs. We will use the money to bring in, set and hook up a mobile/modular home to live in. To do this we need help. I absolutely hate asking for help. I’ve always been the person that gives the help. I live to help others so asking for help is hard for me. If you cannot donate please share this in an effort to reach more people, all help is appreciated!!!
