On January 8th, Tori Traube had a fall that resulted in a serious broken leg (scroll thru the pics above to see some x-rays). That same evening, she underwent surgery and is now back home with her family, beginning a long journey of recovery and rehabilitation.
For those who know Tori, you know she is rarely standing still; her passion for horses and her students keeps her constantly on the move. This injury, however, means she will be out of the saddle and away from the barn for an extended time as she focuses on healing.
The life of a professional equestrian doesn't come with paid time off, and the financial pressure from an unexpected injury like this is significant. Tori will be unable to train, teach, ride, or run her business while she undergoes rehabilitation. This GoFundMe is being set up to help bridge the gap during her recovery, so the only thing Tori has to worry about right now is getting better...not medical bills or monthly expenses.
Your donations will go directly toward Tori's medical costs and physical therapies not covered by insurance. Additionally, the funds will support her living expenses while she is sidelined from work.
Tori has spent her career caring for horses and helping others reach their goals; now it’s our turn to help her get back on her feet. Even if it's just the cost of a bag of grain or a lesson, no amount is too small. If you aren't able to donate, please consider sharing this page with others in the community.
Thanks to everyone who has already reached out to offer support. Your kindness has meant so much to Tori during these first few days. We know the road to recovery is a marathon, not a sprint, and we'll continue to post updates here as she hits new milestones in her rehab.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support for Tori as she begins her road to recovery.
