Tommy Hostetler, or Thomas as he wanted his work friends to call him, was more than just a colleague—he was a dear friend and a truly remarkable person. We met when we started working together as clinical nurse educators for CVS Specialty Pharmacy, and from the beginning, Tommy stood out for his compassion, brilliance, and fierce dedication to his patients. He was a patient advocate in every sense, always going the extra mile to ensure those in his care felt supported and understood. Tommy’s passion for nursing inspired everyone around him, and his warmth and kindness touched countless lives, from colleagues across the country to the medical centers and patients he supported.
Outside of work, Tommy was an avid hiker, skier, and mountaineer. The mountains were his happy place, and he found true joy in exploring the outdoors. Tragically, Tommy passed away doing what he loved most—hiking with friends on Mount Hood on January 25, 2026. The outpouring of love and support from our community has been overwhelming, a testament to the impact he had on so many lives. My deepest sympathies go out to his family—his father Thomas, mother Darlene, and his siblings—who are facing unimaginable loss.
We are raising funds to help Tommy’s family with funeral arrangements both here in Oregon and at their home in Atlanta, as well as with the costs of bringing Tommy home to his loved ones. Any support you can offer during this heartbreaking time would mean so much. Your kindness will help ease the burden on Tommy’s family and honor the memory of a truly extraordinary person.
