Friends and Family of Tom Boza:
Our beloved friend and family member Tom Boza was severely injured on May 6, 2020. We need your support.
In anticipation of reopening his barber shop on Haywood Road in West Asheville, Tom was installing partitions to keep patrons safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. While doing so, Tom was stepping off a ladder and somehow tripped. When he tripped, he fell down and drove his hip bone into his pelvis, shattering it in multiple places. Tom laid alone on the ground for nearly an hour before he gathered the strength to call 911.
Since the accident, Tom was in the ICU for 6 days and hospitalized for an additional week. He is now at CarePartners and learning how to take on daily tasks, such as grooming himself and learning how to use a wheelchair and walker.
Certainly, these are trying times for Tom. He desperately needs your support and we appreciate anything you can do to help us while he recovers. Preliminary estimates from the doctors tell us that Tom will be out of work for the remainder of 2020. We are certain that there will be numerous medical bills and other unforeseen expenses necessary for his care and recovery.
Please help us meet our goal of $200,000 so as to ensure that we get Tom back and stronger than ever.
