Support for T.J. Miller - In memory of Kim Miller

Donation protected

On June 25th, our friend T.J. Miller lost his soul mate, Kim Miller. She passed away after a long battle with lung cancer, and will be sorely missed by friends and family.

Kim, T.J., and Tyson, long time residents of North Edwards, are known throughout the desert community for being caring souls that wear their hearts on their sleeves. Kim worked at the local market, and her children attended the local schools. Selfless and caring, they never hesitate to set aside whatever they’re doing if it means helping out someone else in need.

Many of us from Wasteland first met T.J., Kim, and her son Tyson back in 2017, when we moved into their “back yard” in the desert outside of North Edwards. They joined us for the first ever tours of Wasteland. T.J. brought us homemade pickles. Within minutes they were riding in the back of a Mad-Max truck, sharing in our traditional one-finger salute, immersed in our little world. The entire caravan stopped along the route so Kim could visit one of the camps she’d already heard of, and collect her first tribal dog tag. A few days later, as we wrapped up after the event, T.J. and Tyson helped us clean up and pack out, becoming a part of our Wasteland family before they’d ever attended the event.

Since then, T.J. and Tyson have been a part of the Wasteland build crew, assisting with off-season projects and playing a big part behind the scenes with setup, teardown, and logistics. Last year, for the first time ever, we were ahead of schedule on transport, thanks in large part to T.J. behind the wheel.

At Wasteland T.J. went the extra mile to make sure Kim was comfortable coming out to play with us, built a custom themed ride to explore the event with, and accompanied her on missions to collect caps, participate in shows, and visit friends. The smile on Kim’s face made all of it worth it.

Kim’s passing is not only heartbreaking, it comes with a financial burden. Even modest funeral expenses are a hardship. We are here to support T.J. and Tyson, and help them get through these tough times.

We hope you can help provide some financial support while our friends grieve. We understand everyone is going through their own difficulties with the pandemic, and are thankful for any support you may be able to provide. Every little bit helps.

All proceeds will be going directly to T.J. Miller and family.

Thank You.
