Support for Tina's Medical and Final Expenses
Donation protected
Hi everyone, thank you for visiting our page dedicated to my mom, Tina. I am her son Kenny and my wife and I are starting this fundraiser to hopefully have some help with medical bills and final arrangements for her. In early May my mom went into the hospital with stomach pains, and will most likely not be going home. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that spread to her liver. Sadly we were told that it was incurable, and chemotherapy may or may not buy her some more time with her family.
My mom is a fighter, along with so many positive characteristics that make her who she is. She is the least judgemental person in the world, and can make friends with anyone. Helpful and kind to people even if they don't deserve it because she has the biggest heart. Especially when it comes to her animals. Over the years she's rescued countless cats and dogs and either found them a loving home or gave them one herself. Her independence as a single mom and gave her so much pride, and she never wanted to burden anybody. Which is why this terrible disease got to the point that it did.
Nonetheless she decided to fight it, and received 1 round of chemo not long after the diagnosis. It seemed like things were going well at first but unfortunately with her weakened immune system, and being on high flow oxygen, her lungs started to develop a type of pneumonia. One that will not go away. Every breath she takes she is using all her might, and is absolutely exhausted by it.
It was a tough conversation, but my mom decided to stop the treatments, and be placed into comfort care. She is signed up for hospice which will cover the care for her final days. But the month long stay in the hospital leading up to this decision, we are partially responsible for. Along with her final arrangements, and care for her 2 pets.
Thank you to anybody who took the time to read this, and everyone who reached out with thoughts and prayers, it means more than you know. Even if it's just a few cents, it would mean the world and she would absolutely do the same for you.
