Support for Tina's Cancer Recovery
Donation protected
Our friend and colleague, Tina Hooley, could use some extended support. This wonderful woman has little family support of her own, her fiancee passed away a year ago, and she is under a mountain of medical financial debt due to, among other things, a recurring cancer and the side effects that go with it. Her work-family is hoping to help her raise enough so that she doesn't need to stress about missing work if she is sick from the chemo, and she can take care of healing as much as possible, without the stress of how little her next paycheck may be. Even when she is healthy and wants to work, she is limited due to disability requirements. Any funds raised would help her update her vehicle requirements and licensing, take care of her rent for at least a few months while she recuperates from this latest round of treatments, allow her to get the care her companion German Shephard needs to get rid of a recurring ear infection, and to relax and breathe and not go from one crisis to the next. Any help you might consider would be so greatly received and appreciated. All funds go directly into Tina's own bank account.

There are just certain people, that when they come into your life, they remind you of what's important. You see what they're up against and the attitude in which they approach every moment, and they can't help but remind you of how blessed you are.
Meet Tina. She's one of those people.
I have seen many face cancer, a tough prognosis, little to live off of financially (to put it mildly) as a result, feel awful in the days post treatment, try and be present for family of their own that is sick, face benefits that disappear if they work more than a few hours a week, and so much more that would break the toughest among us. Chances are you have too.
This is the situation she finds herself in. And she comes to work every day when she isn't in total pain or terribly sick from her chemo, at 3 a.m. with a smile and such a positive attitude. She has become a dear friend. And while a number of us are doing what we can to help, I'd really love to see her have less stress and be better able to focus on healing as much as possible.
She could use help with rent for at least a few months. When she misses any of the 20 hours a week she's allowed to work, she struggles to pay not only that bill, but her trac cell phone bill, for groceries, food for her dog, Macy, she hasn't been able to register her car so our team is helping make sure she gets to and from work and wherever else she may need to go. On top of it all, this past week, her own mother passed. She lived in Texas. Tina wasn't able to be with her in her final days, which devastated her. But to ensure she can get to her mother's funeral, Tina's cousins have started a GoFundMe page. https://www.gofundme.com/f/please-help-my-cousi-tina-attend… She would just like to somehow, say goodbye.
I know all of us have family and friends who are struggling. Especially with health issues. The medical expenses that come with are stressful and rarely are they less than enormous. Right now I could probably post about fifteen others in immediate circle that could use some extra prayers, and support. And those are just the ones we know about. While we do what we can to help, it never seems enough. If you are inclined to donate, please know any funds go directly to Tina. If not Tina, please consider others in your life you know could use some help — send a note, give a call, or send a few bucks if you can. It makes a tremendous difference just knowing someone cares. You never know the impact of your kindness and generosity.
Hugs to you all. Be well.
