Support for Tiffeny Basten
I met Tiffeny through my job about 10 years ago. I can honestly say she is one of THE sweetest, most caring, funny, bubbly, strong, Godly women I know.
She has been fighting some serious health issues. Currently, she is seeking treatment for bladder cancer. I have been following her progress for quite a while now and no matter what gets thrown at her, she fights back twice as hard and with the most positive attitude ever.
This is where she is at this point in the process, taken from her latest Facebook post: "With all my research and figuring out what is right for my body and mind, I decided to go with an alternative chemotherapy treatment called IPT
Insulin Potentiated Therapy.
Basically your cancer cells reproduce at a high metabolic rate and need a lot of glucose to supply energy to all that multiplying !! This insulin gets your sugar levels down really low.... then they give you 4-6 chemo drugs with glucose... the high metabolic cells grab this “Trojan horse“ glucose and kill the over multiplying cancer cells in a stealth like strategy!!
The bladder surgery which is 6-8 hours long has so many complications. Also the two doctors who are the most highly recommended... they both don’t take my insurance! So I’m thinking surgery is out. And high dose chemotherapy is out!
Low dose chemotherapy is not an option with the conventional oncologist. High dose or nothing because that is standard protocol! High dose has many complications too
This IPT treatment seems like the best option. It uses the benefits of chemotherapy and the benefits of homeopathy to get your immune system stronger! Unfortunately this place does not take insurance so it’s an expensive and hopeful decision with the least toxic side effects
After the 4 weeks I will get another PET scan and cystoscopy!
My prayer of course, is that this IPT WILL work. If not I will still be content that I made the right decision for my body Keep those prayers coming my prayer warriors!!!!"
As you can see, whether she goes the surgery route or IPT treatment, neither take her insurance so all expenses are out of pocket. That is a lot of money! Any amount you can give to help with expenses would be so greatly appreciated. Let's help Tiffeny not have to carry the additional stress of outrageous medical bills! If you're unable to give at this time, please share this GoFundMe so others can help as well. Thank you so much!
