These three young men lost their dad on June 19, 2024. Their father was a son, a brother, a nephew, and a friend. These boys now carry the burden of not only trying to figure out how to cover the expenses for his funeral, but the aftermath of losing their dad at 17, 18, and 21. Their dad was a mechanic, then taught people how to become mechanics and that is where he sustained a gruesome back injury that required surgery and months of rehab.
With constant pain and the time his injury happened, doctors kept prescribing narcotics. Which led to years of recovery then relapse. Finally, eight months ago he recovered. His smart wit and sarcastic personality was back. The boys finally got their dad back. He was involved in their lives, celebrated milestones, and was active in his recovery. He was working on his future with himself, his family, and his children. Then the unthinkable happened, the phone call no young child should ever have to receive, their father died. By the grace of God, all the boys were able to go to him and say their final goodbyes. Spend those last moments with him before his body was carried away. His life, his legacy, and his name will live on in his children and their children’s children.
These three young men, despite everything they have had to go through in their young lives, have become strong, capable, resilient, positive members of society. But the burden of not being able to place their father at rest shouldn’t be theirs to carry alone. We are asking for help to cover the cost. Anything above and beyond that will be distributed to them equally as if their dad gave it to them himself.
