We are the Wilson Maxwell Family.

Our home flooded in Northern California in a flash flood on Sunday, December 21st. The flooding is not covered by insurance as they consider the water ground and not floodwater.

Our four children did their best to fortify our home while my husband and I assisted drivers in shoulder-deep water for over five hours as they drove past police barricades and their vehicles sank/floated away. We evacuated elderly neighbors as well as took in children after another neighbor had a medical emergency.

We feel incredibly lucky to not have lost our home entirely; however, it will be no less than 5 and no more than 10 thousand dollars to dry everything out. Then we can start taking down walls and replacing flooring throughout our home. None of the work will be covered by insurance.

We know it is difficult for everyone in this economy and during Christmas, and we will appreciate all of the help we can get.
