On May 22, 2026, we lost a true legend with the passing of our friend and longtime coach, Ron Whitmill. Words cannot express the heartbreak felt by all who knew Ron. For more than 20 years, Ron was an important part of the Vision family, touching the lives of countless players, families, and fellow coaches. He was an incredible coach, but even more importantly, an incredible person. The impact he had is impossible to measure. Ron had a true gift—his knowledge of the game, his patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in his players brought out the very best in everyone. He made every athlete feel valued, supported, and capable of more than they believed possible. It is no surprise that so many called him “my favorite coach.”
Ron’s legacy will live on forever in the countless people he coached, inspired, encouraged, and loved. His loss has left a deep void in the lives of his wife Heidi, his children Ronnie, Vanessa, and Danielle, his mother Betty, and all his family and loved ones. Now, his family faces the challenge of navigating life without him, both emotionally and financially.
The funds raised through this campaign will help the Whitmill family transition during this difficult time. Immediate financial support will ease the burden of unexpected expenses and help ensure stability for Heidi, their children, and Ron's mother. Additionally, a portion of the funds will be set aside as a scholarship for Ron's daughters, giving them the opportunity to pursue their college dreams and honor their father's legacy.
Ron was never one to ask for help, but he always had the heart to help others in whatever they needed. This is our way of giving back after all the years he has poured into all of our lives.
