Support for the Werner’s (Medical fund)
Donation protected
Would you consider supporting my brother and his family as he is going through treatment for pancreatic cancer. We wanted to set up this page as a way to support them with medical and other expenses during this time. There has been a "Support for The Werner's" fb page set up, that you can follow. For those of us that are unable to attend local fundraisers, wanted to offer another way to chip in. I have included below the most recent update from his wife, Sarah, off the fb page and will aim to post updates as the fb page is updated. Thank you, on behalf of the Werner's, Ortego's, Glicker's and Wininger's. If you would prefer to donate via Paypal or Venmo, contact me through this page or a family member and will make sure it gets to them.
"We just wanted to update everyone on Greg's current status. He remains under the care of MD Anderson as they are overseeing his Chemo treatments here in Lafayette, thankfully close to family. Greg is scheduled to go back to Houston on January 5th to have more scans done to evaluate how the current chemo treatment is progressing. Greg had his first treatment last Wednesday, November 18th, and will continue to receive Chemo every other Tuesday until his reevaluation in January. As expected he is feeling some side effects but this devoted man continues to work (when he can) and provide for his family-for that we are grateful. As you can imagine our lives have been turned upside down post-diagnosis but we are embracing this new way of life and adapting to a new lifestyle, one that will continue to keep Greg safe during this time.
We do not have the words to adequately express how deeply moved we are by our community. Family, friends, and total strangers have rallied around us and embraced our family with so much love and generosity. The family and friends that have been so selfless and organized multiple benefits on our behalf--we can not thank you enough. Your actions speak volumes and we are so deeply blessed to have you at our side. Our hearts are heavy but we are reminded daily how much we are loved and cared for and that compassion is what keeps us all going. On behalf of the Werner 4 we just want to personally thank each and every one of you for extending your generosity and prayers to our family."
