No one ever wants to lose their mother or grandmother. No one wants to lose family or beloved pets.

Unfortunately, for our family, we lost all the above this year. We will lose two matriarchs within months of each other.

My mother, Jean Weddle, is in her last hours, terminal cancer that has spread to her liver, and this moved so quickly none of us was prepared.

Went from September surgery to November, it was that quick. The decline was intense and horrible.

This all comes after losing my husband's mother, and now, I will be losing mine. And my daughter and nephews have lost both their grandmothers back to back.

I am creating this not for myself, but for my entire family to help during this difficult time.

My nephew was raised by his grandmother until my adult daughter took him as his grandma got weaker.

My daughter Alex is now a foster mom to a teenager and still dealing with losing both her grandmothers in less than 3 months is such a toll on her.

My sister has just changed her life for the better and had a little boy who got to meet his grandma. She also just started to move to Springfield and her son who now will never grow up with his grandma.

Everyone just needs a little help.

My daughter needs help in home expenses helping my nephew adjust in his new home.

My sister in moving expenses to Springfield to be closer to family and her nephew.

All the expenses of arrangements, moving, just everything…

Any just overall any help would be appreciated.
This has been the hardest year of all our lives.

My nephew lost his mom in 2022 and now his grandmother in 2023.

My husband lost his mom in August.

I lost a large part of my family and anything, even if just sharing it far and wide.

I appreciate everything of anything.

Update: 11/20: the last goodbye

I have always believed to my follow my instincts, the little nudge. And today was no exception. Alex went to visit her grandma this afternoon, she was there, but not really there any longer. Alex could see it, and I knew it. She cleaned her up, washed her hair, told her it was ok. Alex later came over for dinner with her dad and me and it was just like old times. Then we went for gelato and I felt it. The instincts, the nudge. We came home and something told me to leave.

And I did, I left and when I arrived at the nursing home, they actually told they were calling me as I was walking in.

Ironic huh? Like it was meant to be.

They were calling me to let me know it was soon. I already knew. I knew it as I walked in the room.

 There was my grandmother….
There was my mother..
There was all the women in our family with cancer…
There was the end…

We talked and the things that were always promised were given. I read her favorite story “Love You Forever” Which is what I would read to Jessica and Jennifer as kids.

I put an ear bud into her ear and we listened to all her favorite songs. I sang her our lullaby, all things she wanted.

Soon after Jennifer and Alex came in and we all sat around, talked, chatted and let her know it was ok. Then Alex left, and Jennifer and me took her hand.

Then her phone rang…. It was her brother.

How ironic? If I had not felt that I needed to stay just a little while longer… he would have missed it. Missed his last call.. his last birthday wish.

Like It was meant to be… he got to say goodbye.

Then I knew it was time. To give her the last gift.

I took her up into my arms and I rocked her back and forth, back and forth and back forth.

And sang the words like so many many times to all my children…

. “I love you forever,
I like you for always,
And as long as I am living,
My mommy you will be”

I tucked her in, turned off her light, and stepped out. She wanted to go quietly with no one watching. She always wanted that, not alone…but as if to sleep.

We did not always have the best relationship, I may have had to grow up too fast and be the adult, but everyone deserves to have their peace, their last wish.

No one should have to suffer like this.

Goodnight mom.

 Happy Birthday, you made it.

When I wake up, I will take of everything.
Don’t you worry.

I'm the strong one, I'm not nervous
I'm as tough as the crust of the Earth is.

 We will be ok….
