Please join us in supporting the Watson family as they navigate an incredibly painful path.
When Jessica was 27 weeks pregnant, their son, Thomas, was diagnosed with a very rare and fatal congenital heart defect that only occurs in .03% of pregnancies. Only 6% of babies with his specific condition live longer than 30 days, and his parents, Jessica and John, were told their son would likely live only a few hours or days after birth. Because of these devastating statistics, Jessica prepared to spend the FMLA time after Thomas' birth healing physically and taking time as a family to grieve. However, Thomas has blown everyone away with how strong he is. He has surpassed the odds given to him and is now more than two months old.
Although Thomas is a fighter, his parents are processing the fact that his condition is still fatal, all while being faced with the reality of having to make incredibly difficult choices, such as having to return to work soon. With no more FMLA, they are now processing having to leave their sweet boy at home while they return to their careers in order to continue to make ends meet. Friends, would you please join us in raising money to support the Watson family? This would help allow John and Jessica to spend the deserved time with Thomas when he will need it most, and allow them the time to grieve when needed.
