Support for the Walnys and Baby Rivers

For all of you who know and love the Walnys, you know that the journey to parenthood has been a long, hard road for them. It has also been a story full of God's grace and so many miracles! After 5 years of losses and heartbreak, Daryl and Kelsey were finally expecting sweet baby Rivers due July 9th.

Several weeks ago, Kelsey began experiencing some bleeding that her doctor was closely monitoring. On Saturday, May 16, Kelsey went to the hospital after more bleeding only to find that she had been having small contractions and was 3 cm dilated. They hoped that contractions would subside and baby Rivers would stay put awhile longer, but it become clear that wouldn't be the case and she would need to move forward with delivery.

Rivers Wyandot Walny was born the morning of May 17th--2 months early! He couldn't wait to join Mommy and Daddy! He was 3 lb 14.5 oz, 15 inches long, and scored an 8 on the APGAR test--such great news!! He was put on a tiny CPAP machine but was mostly breathing on his own. He has been doing wonderfully. Kelsey unfortunately experienced some post-delivery complications, so her recovery has been painful. She is continuing to heal though.

Kelsey and Daryl are over the moon to be with their little boy, but his early arrival has brought with it a lot of unknowns and unexpected expenses. Kelsey's hospital stay was longer than expected, and now they will be staying in a hotel near the hospital while Rivers continues to grow in the NICU. His NICU visit and possible therapies in the future are definitely unexpected medical expenses. 

So many wonderful friends and acquaintances have offered to help, and right now what they need most are prayers, financial donations, and registry items.
