As many of you have heard by now, our dear friend, Sean Wainwright was involved in the horrific accident on the 107 highway on Friday morning. We were heartbroken to learn that he passed away at the scene. Sean had been driving with his son Dylan in the passenger seat. Dylan survived the crash and is now in stable condition and physically recovering in hospital with his mom, Amanda and his sister, Sophia and the rest of his amazing family by his side.

Sean, known as "Skinny" by so many of us that loved him, was a kind and gentle soul who did not deserve to have his life on earth end at the age of 48. He and his son were just going to work, like on any other day. He should still be here with us, making us all laugh with his silly jokes and deciding if he should watch the next Jays game at home with Dylan or "over here" in Ryan's garage. He should be here to celebrate his 49th birthday next month with some sweet surprise plan that Amanda has dreamed up for the two of them. And he should be here to witness all the milestones that lie ahead for Dylan and Sophia.

While the grief we feel right now is staggering, there is a small measure of comfort in remembering that Sean, Amanda, Sophia and Dylan enjoyed one last family vacation together this past August. "I'm so glad I got to watch a Jays game at the Skydome with my dad," Sophia said yesterday. She is wise beyond her 14 years; she has learned to be a keeper-of-memories from one of the best. We knew we could all rely on Sean to document every family vacation and football trip through endless photos, well-kept souvenirs - and yes, even spreadsheets. Little did he know how precious those mementos would soon become to all of us.

Amanda, Dylan and Sophia need time to grieve this catastrophic and unexpected loss. Amanda will now be responsible for funding their household on solely her own income as a Pre-Primary teacher. We have started this campaign to try and help alleviate some of the financial burden she now faces. Any funds raised will go toward giving Sean the kind of beautiful send-off he deserves, and to help Amanda and the kids successfully navigate through this next phase of uncertainty together.

We wish you were here Skinny but please rest easy knowing we will take care of Amanda, Dylan and Sophia. We will somehow get them through this. We love you always.
