Father and Home Lost to Fire, Please Help

Donation protected
My name is Jacqueline Diaz. I'm the wife of Wilbert Villalta, son of Jose Villalta. Jose Villalta is my father in law. The funds raised will go towards funeral expenses, replacing family belongings and assisting finding housing for the rest of the family who are now displaced. My husband, Wilbert Villalta and I, will be coordinating the services and ensuring funds raised go towards all the expenses that this fire has caused us all to encure.

A house fire has tragically claimed the life of Jose Villalta and destroyed his family home in Stockton, CA. Please help us remember and find a safe new home.

The rest of the family has survived, due in great part to his effort to get others to safety, but they have lost their home, their belongings, and their dad/grandpa.

Jose Villalta was a beloved custodian in the Ripon Unified School District where he did the very best to support students, staff and faculty. He drove kids on field trips, to games and helped teachers with their classrooms with love and dedication until his retirement.

Apart from his work there, he has spent a lifetime in sales, having markets and import and wholesale businesses in the San Francisco mission district, Redwood City, Oakland and San Leandro. In retirement he's kept up his love of sales at the Modesto flea market and taken on a big role in caring for his youngest grandkids.

A migrant from El Salvador, Jose has worked hard to provide for his family and purchase a home for them. He is husband to Flor, and he's also a father, grandfather, a brother, and friend to many who appreciate his big bright smile, and charismatic sense of humor.

As this is so recent, we don't have information set up for his services but will update with them as soon as we can. We will also be setting up an account on Mealtrain to support the whole family that is without belongings.

Please reach out directly to Jackie if you'd like to support through a different channel.

Thank you in advance for supporting his memory and family.
