Support for the Vigil Family in Loving Memory of beloved family man and dedicated teacher, Corey Vigil.

With broken hearts, we share the passing of Corey Vigil after his courageous battle with cancer at just 37 years old. He leaves behind his loving wife Erika and his three beautiful children who were the center of his world.

For more than 13 years, Corey devoted his life to teaching. He served in the Etiwanda School District at Terra Vista Elementary School and most recently at Lightfoot Elementary School. Teaching was never just a job to Corey, it was his calling. He poured his heart into his classroom each day, building lasting relationships with his students and their families. He felt truly honored to shape young lives and be part of such a special school community.

Corey and Erika shared a deep, genuine love that was felt by everyone around them. They were best friends, teammates, and each other’s greatest support. Whether it was the small, everyday moments or life’s biggest challenges, they faced everything side by side. Corey adored Erika, and she was his safe place, his partner, and the love of his life. The life they built together, and the love they shared, will forever be carried on through their children.

Corey was a devoted husband, loving son, and an adoring father. Corey leaves behind his daughter Avery (8), son Landon (3), and his baby boy Hudson (1) who was born just days before Corey’s devastating diagnosis. He is also survived by his wonderful parents, Mary and Champ Vigil, who are left with the devastating loss of their beloved son.

Corey's little ones were by far his greatest joy. He loved being outdoors with his family, casting a fishing line, playing games on the floor with his kids, sharing good food, listening to music all day, and cheering passionately for his beloved Dodgers. His presence filled their home with warmth, laughter, and love. He will always be remembered for being such an adoring dad to his kids.

Erika, also a dedicated elementary school teacher, is now facing the unimaginable reality of raising their young children without her best friend and teammate. Along with the heartbreak, comes the weight of financial responsibilities and the many unexpected expenses that follow.

We are asking our friends, family, colleagues, and the community to come alongside Erika and their children during this incredibly painful time. Your support will help ease the financial burden so she can focus on caring for her children, holding them close, and beginning the long journey of healing.
