My name is Alma Vasquez, and I am raising funds for my family after a devastating house fire that changed our lives in an instant.

On the morning of June 20, our family home in Phoenix caught fire. My family has lived in this home for more than 30 years, and in a matter of minutes, we lost the place where we built our lives and made our memories.

My father, Miguel Vasquez (69), my mother, Lorena Bedolla (52), and my sister, Jessica Vasquez (22), suffered injuries and remain focused on their recovery. My father sustained serious burn injuries and faces a long road ahead. My younger sister Maritza (16) and I are currently staying with family friends while we support our loved ones and navigate the challenges that come with losing our home.

At this time, we have not been able to return to the property and do not know the full extent of what was lost. In addition to our belongings, we may have lost important personal documents that will need to be replaced. Our family is also working to care for our pets and manage the many unexpected expenses that have followed this tragedy.

My parents have spent years building a life in Phoenix. My father worked in landscaping, and my mother has always been active in the community through volunteering and helping others. Anyone who knows them knows how much they care about their family, neighbors, and community.

The funds raised will help our family with temporary housing, transportation, replacing essential belongings and documents, medical and recovery-related expenses, and other immediate needs as we work toward rebuilding our lives.
