On the morning of Sunday, January 11, 2026, our family’s lives were changed forever.

Our beloved Uncle Gustavo Vargas, Aunt Margarita Vargas, cousin Gustavo Vargas Jr., and our dear grandmother Gloria Rodriguez were on their way to church when they were involved in a massive 17-vehicle pileup on Highway 99.

The Tragic Toll

We are absolutely heartbroken to share that our Uncle Gustavo Vargas was struck and passed away at the scene. He was a devoted father & hardworking man, who loved his family above all else.

Our grandmother, Gloria Rodriguez, fought hard but tragically succumbed to her injuries and passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. They were both the heart of their families, and their loss leaves a void that can never be filled.

The Road to Recovery

Our Aunt Margarita Vargas suffered a terrifying 40-foot fall over a guardrail during the accident. She sustained major injuries and remains in the hospital. Our cousin, Gustavo Vargas Jr., was also hospitalized but is working toward recovery. Both face a very long and difficult road ahead, both physically and emotionally.
