This story is about one of the most spiritually dedicated women we know. Our friend, Dawn Vang. On June 10, 2020, Dawn was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma Stage 4. This type of cancer is skin cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Dawn’s cancer was discovered on her peritoneal in her abdomen. Our beautiful ray of sunshine Dawn is currently going through the fight of her life. To all who know her, not only is she strong, courageous, dedicated, loyal, loving, giving and fierce, but she is also a phenomenal mother to four amazing kiddos and a devoted wife to her husband Lee of 17 years.
10 years ago Dawn was diagnosed with melanoma, but it was caught early... Early enough that her doctors felt she would be okay. Dawn, who loves the outdoors and the sun, was always so very careful. She always brought along several different sunscreens with her wherever she went. She knew she had to be cautious, she knew that melanoma is a WAR and can reappear at any time. A month ago, that time came. Scary symptoms brought her to the hospital where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. This is where her bravery comes into play, she knew immediately that she had to buckle up for this journey because winning is the only option. Dawn has all of the factors that make her an excellent candidate for beating this monster... She's young, she's devoted to God, she's strong and so very healthy! But,she needs our help. Cancer is not free. Not financially, emotionally nor spiritually. She has four school age children: Ian, 16, Ella, 13, Isaac, 12 and Owen, 12. They need their mother.
One thing as friends and family we can do is take some stress from her and Lee. Bills still need to be paid, groceries still need to be purchased and the needs of a family remain. Due to COVID-19, only her husband can be with her for her many appointments and treatments, so in turn he will need to be off of work. What we need is for the two of them to be laser focused on her recovery so the goal is to help in the ways we can so Lee, Ian, Ella, Isaac and Owen can have their wife and mother for years to come. Please consider contributing to this Go Fund Me account. The money will go towards the things mentioned and to ease Dawn's worry so she can concentrate on getting better. Thank you so much for reading, for praying, for sharing and for your contributions.

No amount is too small, every dollar helps. Let’s keep our ray of sunshine shining!!!
Dawn successfully had a couple procedures to help keep day to day life as comfortable as possible. Every treatment, every procedure Dawn has had she has come out smiling...standing strong on her faith. Dawn is so loved, but love isn’t going to pay the bills that have already started to rack up. Love isn't going to put food on the table for her beautiful family of six.
Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Dawn, knows what a positive, faith filled and generous person she is. She would be there for anyone one in a heart beat!!!
Now it’s our turn!!
James 1: 2-6
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
