We are raising funds to support Kimie and Rihito Uemoto after the sudden loss of Hiro — a husband, father, and deeply valued member of the Lord Howe Island community.

Hiro was a quiet, steady presence in all of our lives. He gave generously, without ever seeking recognition, and built a life here with Kimie and their son Rihito defined by care, commitment, and selflessness.

Originally from Shikoku Island in Japan, Hiro found a natural home on Lord Howe Island. Together, he and Kimie created a life for their family here, becoming part of the community in a way that felt effortless and genuine.

Kimie and Rihito are taking each day as it comes, and as a community we are holding them close.

This fundraiser will provide practical support and stability for them in the months and years ahead.

All funds raised will go directly to the Uemoto family.
