Hi, my name is Lindsay Kuiack, and I’m fundraising for my dear friends Tamara and Peter Trader and their incredible three-year-old daughter, Hailey.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tamara for several years, and I still vividly remember the joy in our office the day she shared she was pregnant. Over the years, our friendship has grown into something I cherish deeply. I also remember the day she shared the news that no parent is ever prepared to hear.

On April 24, 2025, Tamara and Peter’s world was turned upside down when they heard the words: "Your daughter has cancer." Hailey was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). Since then, I have watched this family face the unimaginable with grace. After seeing their own selfless efforts to raise money for CHEO through the CN Cycle for CHEO, I felt compelled to do something specifically for them.

Hailey’s Journey

Hailey is nothing short of a warrior and an inspiration. Through the hardest days of treatment, she continues to fight with a radiant smile that truly lights up every room she enters. While she has bravely battled through her initial rounds of treatment, the road ahead remains long—Hailey is expected to continue her fight until August 2027.

How You Can Help

While there is hope that Hailey may be able to return home soon, the transition brings its own set of challenges. Living in the Valley means Tamara and Peter will have to travel back and forth to Ottawa for specialized care. Additionally, Tamara will need to remain on leave from work to be by Hailey’s side until her appointments and treatments become less frequent.

The Valley is a place where people rally around their own. I am hoping that, together, we can alleviate the mounting financial burden that comes with a fight of this magnitude, allowing Tamara and Peter to focus entirely on Hailey’s recovery.
