Support for the Tom Parent family

My Uncle, Tom Parent, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia earlier this month. This Go Fund Me account has been established to help pay for care and support that is needed and/or not covered by hospice services so that his final days/weeks are as comfortable as possible.

Last week we were stunned to learn my Uncle has terminal leukemia and was only given a few days to a couple of weeks to survive. While processing this devastating news, Tom is also making decisions regarding his end-of-life care, getting his affairs in order, spending time visiting with family and friends and making the most of the precious time that remains. For the most part his spirits remain good and he has said that he is at peace.

After the diagnosis, Tom was immediately admitted to hospice at home. Hospice is providing good and compassionate care but there are some services they do not cover, some of which are challenging for the family to navigate. Funds raised will go to ensure that Tom remains comfortable and has everything he needs in his final days, to help pay for things that are physically difficult for Marilyn and his family to manage and to help cover other unexpected expenses that the family is managing.
