We are the family and friends of Sam Sweeney, who passed away unexpectedly on February 9th, leaving behind a loss that is both tragic and immeasurable. Though his departure was sudden and heartbreaking, the strength of his legacy lives on in the countless lives he’s touched.

Sam made an impact every single day—first and foremost through his beloved family: Kellirose, his wife and the love of his life; Noah (7), his firstborn son and best buddy; and Lilly (5), his cherished daughter and the apple of his eye. He met Kellirose in middle school, married her years later, and from that day forward she remained the absolute love and greatest pride of his world.

As we continue to process this profound loss, we are deeply grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. This fundraiser is intended to provide some certainty during an incredibly uncertain time. All funds raised will be used solely for the care, support, education and future of Noah and Lilly, helping to pave the way for the life these two wonderful children deserve.

Sam was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He made his parents and siblings immensely proud and was known for his infectious sense of humor and his instinct to put others before himself. If you needed a laugh, you knew exactly where to turn.

A man of faith and a world-class tennis player, Sam was deeply passionate about the sport, and that passion carried through every aspect of his life. Yet nothing ever came before his family. Being a father was his true calling—one he fulfilled with unwavering love, joy, and dedication.

An advocate of the tennis community, Sam was deeply passionate about the sport as a Crystal Lake Park District instructor, a country club professional, and a pro at the Racket Club; he served as Varsity Tennis Coach at both Prairie Ridge High School & Crystal Lake Central High School, was inducted into the North Central College Hall of Fame, and earned ATP doubles ranking points. He remained humbled and continually made his family proud.

While we are only at the beginning of the healing journey, this fundraiser offers a direct, tangible way to support the Sweeney family—now and in the days ahead. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help the family through this difficult time and support Noah and Lilly’s needs.
