Please help Jenny and her kids through this heartbreaking transition in memoriam of Steve Zimmerman.
In November 2019, Steve was diagnosed with a Liposarcoma on his leg, a rare cancer that develops in fatty tissue. Shortly after his initial diagnosis, a PET scan revealed a second sarcoma above his kidney.
Steve began chemotherapy in January 2020. COVID and quarantine began shortly after and while the world was battling the frustration of quarantine and isolation from society, Steve was going through treatment after treatment trying to find something that would work. Over the past year, he has attempted to get into multiple clinical trials and had 5 different chemotherapy treatments, some pill and some IV.
A few weeks ago, in early March, Steve’s scan showed that the cancer had continued to spread, and that his body was too weak to take any more treatment. Steve passed at home with Jenny by his side on March 22.
Steve and Jenny met on the softball field and started dating after Steve bugged Jenny enough times she that she finally went out with him. It didn’t take long before they both knew they had met their other half and they got married in 2016. In July of 2018, Jenny gave birth to their son Hank. 2 months later, Jenny found out she was pregnant again (oops!). Their baby girl Harley was born in July 2019 and Steve and Jenny were elated about their growing family.
Steve was headstrong and a natural leader. He loved taking care of his family and wanted to be the sole breadwinner, so when Harley was born Jenny agreed to put her Personal Training career on hold to stay home with their two babies.
Jenny needs all of our love and support as she takes time to grieve and begin to navigate what her next steps are to take on being a working single mom of two kids under 3 years old.
