As many of you know, in late May, Scot woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe and Laura frantically rushed him to the ER. He was diagnosed with acute onset pneumonia which quickly progressed into life-threatening septic shock. During the past three months that Scot has been in the hospital, he has suffered two additional hospital-acquired pneumonia infections and encephalopathy. For most of that time, he was unable to communicate with his family, which was immeasurably difficult for them. Being the fighter that he is, Scot is showing improvement but still has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He has many hurdles to overcome, including the inability to walk. We are hopeful that with time, he will make a full recovery and be back to the energetic, funny, amazing Scot we know and love.
Through all of this, his incredible wife Laura has kept their family going. As you can imagine, Scot’s unfortunate illness has taken a severe emotional and financial toll on this wonderful family. Expenses have added up quickly and they, as hard as it is to admit, are struggling. They have determined they need to downsize quickly and will be moving in the very near future.
Anything you can contribute would provide much needed relief to Laura and Scot as they focus on his health and on raising their three beautiful children Nick, Grayson and Charlotte. I know Laura and Scot will appreciate your support from the bottom of their hearts. Thank you.
