Support for the Smith Family, Displaced by House Fire

Though they are all safe and sound, the Smith Family now faces the unfortunate and daunting task of working through displacement, the rebuilding of their home, and replacing their belongings following a house fire that occurred on the evening of October 9, 2024. Fleeing their home with little more than the clothing on their backs, they will spend the next several months working through their insurance company to get back into their home, which, thanks to the swift response of the Peoria Fire Department, is expected to be salvageable at this point, but it will require very extensive repairs. Money raised through this fundraiser will be used specifically to help the family replenish their most basic immediate needs while they await insurance relief.

Where to donate: Kayla & Sedric's close friends, Lauren & Billy Blasek, who run W.E. Sullivan's, have offered to collect any clothing or other items on their behalf and will store them in the office at the restaurant (4538 N. Prospect Rd., Peoria Heights, IL 61616). If you wish to drop off anything for them, the restaurant hours are:

Tuesday - Thursday: 11am-1am

Friday & Saturday: 11am-2am

Sunday & Monday: Closed
