This campaign is to support Sandra and Michael Slowey, the wife and son of Kevin Slowey, who passed away unexpectedly in September. Pease feel free to Google his name as verification.
Also, THIS CAMPAIGN IS A SURPRISE FOR SANDY & MICHAEL, SO PLEASE DO NOT SAY ANYTHING TO THEM FOR NOW. The plan is to raise funds over the next week and a half, and then the campaign will be revealed to them the weekend before Christmas as a surprise. The campaign will remain open after as well for any further donations.
More to the story....Kevin was the sole financial provider for the family as Sandy is unable work work due to a chronic medical condition. To make matters worse, Kevin had lost his job ~6 months prior to his passing due to his company restructuring, so he did not have medical insurance at the time of his passing.
Kevin was a hard working, loving husband and father who sacrificed a lot for his family and in the caring for others. Anyone who saw anything on FaceBook or in real life knows hows much he genuinely loved his family and friends, and helping others. His son, Michael. is following in his footsteps as he is a junior volunteer fireman in their local fire department.
You can only imagine the financial challenges that Sandy and Michael are now dealing with as the medical bills from Kevin's passing have piled up and their household situation is strained.
My name is Kevin Ketchum (you can look me up on FaceBook or LinkedIn to confirm legitimacy), the organizer of this campaign. I knew Sandy back in high school and have connected with her by FaceBook again over the years and have come to "know" Kevin a bit also via FaceBook as well. Just looking to help a friend/family in dire need during this holiday time.
