Seven children lost their father, their protector, and their only provider.

With the heaviest hearts, we share the sudden and devastating loss of my beloved uncle, Mohammad Ashraf Sediq, who passed away unexpectedly at just 39 years old. While working far from home as a truck driver in South Carolina, he tragically found died inside of the truck and never returned to the family he loved more than anything in this world.

In one heartbreaking moment, a loving wife lost her life partner, and seven innocent children lost the father who was their protector, their guide, and their only provider.

Ashraf was not just a father — he was the foundation of his family. He spent long and exhausting days and nights driving across the country, often far from home, making sacrifices that only a devoted parent could make. Every mile he drove and every hour he worked was for one purpose: to give his children a safe home, food on the table, and hope for a better future.

Today, that future has been shaken by unimaginable grief.

The Sediq family lives in Sacramento County, where a grieving mother is now left to face the impossible task of raising seven children alone. With limited English and a broken heart, she must now comfort her children while trying to navigate life without the man who carried the entire family on his shoulders. On top of the grief, the family is struggling to pay rent for their large home, as well as utilities, food, and other basic necessities — a burden that amounts to thousands of dollars each month for a family of this size.

No family is ever prepared for such a sudden tragedy. Along with the unbearable emotional pain, the family is now facing overwhelming financial challenges — including funeral expenses and the daily needs of seven growing children.
