Support for the Shearer family

Hi, I’m Jenny and I’ve been asked to create this Go Fund Me page by my friend and fellow member of the Wild Wimmin tribe, Claire Shearer.

Claire’s beloved husband Barry sadly passed away on 31st August this year following a stay in hospital. Barry was only 52 and leaves behind three children - Murron (14), Morven (12) and Archie (10).

Claire (46) has been the breadwinner in the family for a number of years and when she does return to her role following this period of compassionate leave, she will need to reduce her hours to ensure she is available for her children before and after school. This is critical for the family as Claire has unexpectedly become a single parent and also a lone carer for her motorsport-mad son Archie who has additional support needs and attends Lochies Primary School in Alloa.

The Shearer family have been so appreciative of the support that Archie has received at Lochies over the years that the family have undertaken a number of fundraising activities to help raise vital funds for the school.

Now, in these extremely sad and challenging circumstances it’s that Claire who needs the support and kindness of others.

We are asking people who can do so to donate what they can to help cover the cost of Barry’s funeral.

By helping in this way, your generosity will enable Claire to focus on her family and supporting each other to come to terms with their loss - without the added stress of financial pressure.
