Support for the Schultz and Yates families- post flooding
Donation protected
Update: We are at $2650!! Thank you all for your support of Kayla and Steve's families. If you still wish to contribute, please try to do so by Monday. I appreciate all of you so very much.
Hi! My name is Heather Henson-Ramsey and I am raising funds for several of my colleagues at Tusculum University, whose homes were severely damaged by the recent flooding (September 2024, Hurricane Helene). They have immediate and urgent needs to replace clothing and other essentials.
1) Steve and Erin Shultz have two teenage children, Sam (16) and Zetta (12). Most of their personal belongings were destroyed. We are hoping to raise enough funds so they can go shopping to replace their lost clothing ASAP. Steve hosts the theatre program at Tusculum and Erin is a costume designer. Both are active in the local community. They are currently living with relatives.
2) One of our library staff, Kayla Yates, and her mother lost their entire home in the flooding. Kayla is our circulation manager and library webmaster. They are staying with family. They are originally from Unicoi County, so have been doubly impacted by the flooding.
Tusculum University's Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) is setting up a fund to support Steve, Kayla, and other faculty/staff who were impacted by the floods. Those funds will take time, however, to acquire. This GoFundMe is for immediate needs while the IA office raises more substantial monies to support them.
