Dear Friends,
As many of you know, on December 2nd Michelle, while driving, was hit head on by another car that was speeding, lost control, and then spun out into her lane. Michelle was then trapped in her car until another driver was able to help get her out and her car was totaled. As a result of the painful & severe bruising on her sternum, her injured knee, whiplash, and various other body pain, Michelle has been essentially bedridden since the accident and is enduring a slow recovery. Thankfully, the baby (Michelle is 21 weeks pregnant) seems to be totally fine despite bruising on her abdomen and no one else was in the car during the accident so both Greg and Faye are OK.
Here's where we can all pitch in to help - the Russos now need to start payments on a new car, recover certain damaged items, pay for the care Michelle will need to recover (since everything won't be covered by insurance), and to help make up for the loss in income, as Michelle cannot continue to work (or drive) until she recovers. Michelle will be going on maternity leave in April but being self-employed, this was going to be a self-funded maternity leave.
We are hoping to raise $5000 for the Russo family in order to carry them through this time, and to make sure Michelle is able to get all of the care she needs in order to fully recover in time to welcome her new baby in the spring and to then take the time she needs after the birth to be on maternity leave with the new little one.
Thank you so much - any amount you can contribute is helpful, and we are so grateful for your support!
Love,
Rachel, Melissa & Emily
