We are starting this GoFundMe for our very beloved brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Bethann Reeder.
Brian, along with many other members of our family, was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) as a teenager. While this disease progresses differently in everyone, it has unfortunately reached a critical point for Brian. His native kidneys are now so large that they crowd his entire abdomen and function at only 15% (weighing over 8 pounds apiece!). As a result, his fatigue and pain have increased, forcing him to significantly decrease his workload.
We are now at a point where Brian is scheduled to have both kidneys removed on June 18, 2026. He will then be on dialysis for several weeks until he receives a new kidney from a living donor—whom we thank God for!
Brian is the main provider for their family of seven. As a local auto mechanic, he has grown his business in the Elida area to be well-known for excellent service and honesty. Bethann is a dedicated homemaker, raising their children and making delicious baked goods (if you've ever had a Pete's Ice Cream apple dumpling, you know!).
During these next few months of surgeries and recovery, Brian's ability to work will be extremely limited. As the primary provider, the financial strain adds understandable stress to the family. His wife, Bethann, has been his rock, providing love and encouragement through all he has endured—a true testament to her faith and her commitment to "in sickness and in health." She is the last to complain, always keeps a positive attitude, and supports our brother through every peak and valley.
We are asking anyone who has it in their heart to donate, please do so. Any amount is appreciated more than you know and will be an incredible aid in helping alleviate the stress of this journey. Prayers are also greatly appreciated in these trying times.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration to help this wonderful family we love so dearly.
