Loss of life is natural. Loss of a youth is not. Unfortunately, Mackenzie, a beautiful young woman, is fighting a ferocious battle against Stage 4 metastatic liver cancer that started in her bowels as colorectal cancer. Family and friends are doing their best in every way possible, but we now turn to the generosity and kindness of anyone that this reaches.
During the labs and bloodwork in preparation for a preventative surgery, Mackenzie’s condition was discovered. It is incurable, degenerative, and terminal. Her family has not left her side, and with your help, they won’t have to. Unfortunately, Mackenzie just aged out of a lot of youth-targeted programs to assist the family. Amanda, Mackenzie’s mother, and Josh, Amanda’s long-term partner, traveled almost 9 hours to help Mackenzie with recovery when they were blindsided by the news. Mackenzie’s parents are juggling work, depleting paid time off, and have to deal with the realities of their world drastically changing. We are trying to make their time, and Mackenzie’s situation the least stressful it can be in this devastating circumstance.
Mackenzie has worked hard to become a certified nursing assistant and was pursuing nursing school. She was looking toward starting her young adult life and dedicating it to helping those in need. Now we turn to palliative care, ensuring that she can have the best quality for the rest of her time.
Amanda would be the first to give you the shirt off her back in any time of need. Josh, has been a father figure that loves Mackenzie as a daughter. Myself, and my husband, have been two individuals with whom Amanda and Josh’s generosity, love, and enthusiastic personalities have touched beyond words. Now it’s our turn to give back.
Your generosity, support, and prayers are immensely appreciated. This fund will help the Packards cover medical, travel, food, shelter, and lost wages for the time spent with her. Thank you for your time, support, and any generosity that can be spared.
