Support for The Opperman’s

A few weeks ago David recieved an injury to his hand. In the next two days, Dave became sick and went to have a Covid test.. over that weekend while waiting for the results of his Covid test, he became sicker and sicker... on the Monday he collapsed at home and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. It was then that the nightmare really begun for Dave and his wife  Haley. He was moved into the ICU very quickly as he had a bacterial infection in his blood, and a brain bleed. Shortly after he was intubated, and put into a medically induced coma because of the incredible amounts of pain he was in. He was airlifted to Kelowna the following day and admitted to the ICU there and quickly rolled into His first brain surgery. Haleys mom Judy drove her to Kelowna the following morning so she could be with Dave as they would not allow her to fly with him due to Covid rules. Dave had also suffered from potentially multiple strokes throughout this entire event. To say it was touch and go would be an understatement. Dave has since had yet another surgery on his brain to drain an abscess and will likley require more as the bacteria has invaded multiple areas of his brain. He has a very long recovery ahead of him but he is so strong and we know he will get there... 

As their family, we have done what we can to be helpful which really hasn’t been much! Beingable to help them with finances is about the only thing we can do at this point! And with their situation and neither of them working for the foreseeable future, I am really hoping we can all help with this piece.
