Florence Nzaniye/Omari is a dedicated Mental Health Counselor, wife, and mother of two young children. I met Florence during our time together at graduate school at George Fox University, and I have always admired her hard work and compassion. In October 2025, her husband, Songolo Omari, was struck by a vehicle while walking, resulting in a life-threatening injury to his lower leg.

Since the accident, the Omari family has been thrust into a world of emergency medical procedures, hospital stays, doctors' appointments, and ongoing physical therapy. They have faced the added stress of navigating the complexities of the medical system and insurance companies. Due to Songolo's injuries, he has been unable to work, and despite the assistance provided by insurance, the family has experienced a significant loss of income—about 40% over the past four months. The Omari family is now facing many unplanned expenses on top of their daily living costs.
