Hello friends and family,

I have decided to create this GoFundMe for my dearest friend Scarlett, her husband Erik, and their newborn baby girl, Saoirse Sampson.

After an appointment at 34 weeks with Scarlett's midwife, a concern was noticed on the ultrasound and she was quickly taken to a nearby hospital ER. After about 24 hours in the hospital, medical professionals decided more care would be needed in order to bring about a safe delivery for both mom and daughter. Scarlett was transferred to a hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, about 2.5 hours from their home.

It was there on the evening of December 10th that Scarlett and Erik welcomed their little girl into the world, via emergency C-section, amidst a whirl of nurses and doctors. Since her birth, Saoirse has been under the care of an excellent team of NICU doctors and nurses.

This morning, Dec. 12th, Saoirse underwent abdominal surgery which revealed the issue of a distended intestine. Now she will be on IV nutrition for the next 6-8 weeks at which time doctors believe her GI system will be able to repaired healthily.

At this time what Scarlett, Erik, and Saoirse need most is prayer, as we trust that the Lord is going to work this out for His glory!

Scarlett and Erik not only face a financial medical burden, but also have immediate physical needs that are unique. They were about to move to Santa Fe and now need to adjust plans in order to be near their dear tiny daughter. They need to find housing, have support for meals, and Scarlett is in need of postpartum care.

Scarlett had been teaching online dance classes through their dance company Vagabondance. I will include updates as possible if their needs change.
