On Saturday, August 1, 2026, a huge storm came through our little town of McCaysville, GA, bringing in over 6 inches of rain, which resulted in detrimental flooding and damage to many residents in our area. A wonderful family, the Murray family, that I am blessed to know, lost everything due to the impacts of this storm. Their home was destroyed, vehicles destroyed, personal items, clothing, etc. They lived by Wolf Creek, which rose to dangerous and destructive levels. They were rescued late in the night from chest-deep water in their home, washing away everything they have. JR and Estelle have two children, Kayla and Jesse, facing direct hardships as a result. Any and all donations made will go directly to the family to help with housing, whether finding a new home or making repairs, and any essential items they will need.
