Our dear friend and brother, Robert Dixon, has passed away tragically and unexpectedly. He was a great Marine, leader, friend but most importantly a better father and husband. His selfless actions were experienced by everyone he met. His unforgettable generosity and smile blessed many of us and stamped a memory in our lives. Robert was very intelligent and had a beautiful mind with the persistency to keep learning. His open-mindedness and sweet soul has attained and gained him countless friends and family with different backgrounds and from different regions of the world.
Robert Dixon was Marine that lifted up my spirits during harsh times and took the time to actually get to know me. He was a leader who allowed me to have bigger responsibilities and wider opportunities and even when I failed, rather than to easily replace me he instead taught me and continued to develop me. He loved this country, he loved our Corps, and he served it with honor.
However, what I really admired was his life at home. His passionate and adventurous relationship with his wife. Not only a couple by marriage but everyone's goal: to be married to your best friend. What was most precious to his life were his two beautiful young boys. His delicate love and dedication to always be a great father and set a high standard to be that role model.
Unfortunately, his life story was cut short and too soon. Most of us lost a brother, a friend, a son, or a family member but to those boys they were stolen of the best teacher of their lives. They were stolen of his physical enthusiasm and support at their football games, his proud smile at their college graduation, and seeing their father holding his grandchildren. This strong woman was not only robbed of her life's companion but half of her heart as well.
To give his loving wife and family one less task to worry about I am hoping to raise enough money for all his service expenses to be taken care of. And though we cannot replace his presence in his boys life, I wish for a new beginning with this money for them.
