Support for the McKinsey Family's Fight Against Leukemia

Hey all,

My name is Logan Downing, and I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend and brother, Josh McKinsey.

Josh, who is a pivotal member of our community in Brownsburg, wears many hats: he's a content creator for the Brownsburg Church of Christ, a wickdely good barista, a cherished friend, and an incredible husband and father to his 1.5-year-old son. Josh and his wife, Ryleigh, have been married for over five years.

On Wednesday April 17th, Josh went to the emergency room for a recurring fever and exhaustion that had been coming and going over the last few weeks. The hospital was able to determine relatively quickly that he was dealing with Lukemia of some form and sent him to a hospital on the north side of Indianapolis that was better equipped to help him. It was at this hospital that they determined he has Chronic Myeloid Leukemia with blast crisis.

This page has been set up to support our friend Josh and his family. Josh was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Lukemia with blast crisis and currently has a long road ahead of him as the doctors begin to work out a treatment plan. They have already been told that an extended stay at the hospital will be necessary and chemo pills are already being taken to begin bringing his white blood cell count down. Over the course of the treatment, the family will need to remain as quarantined as possible to protect Josh in his immunocompromised state.

Josh is his family's primary income earner and without his income, the bills will begin to pile up quickly. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help Josh and Ryleigh with medical expenses and day to day life while they fight this battle. Their village of family and friends here in Brownsburg are here to support and provide for them in this journey, but the hope is we can also alleviate some of the anxiety around finances.

Given how unpredictable medical costs are, I wasn't sure where to set the goal for this, there are a lot of unknowns still. Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated (and any prayers you can offer are greatly appreciated as well).
