Support for the McCann Family

Everyone who knows Luke knows that he is the sweet and chatty youngest child of the McCann family. He is known for keeping the little league snack bar in business with his frequent snack trips. In mid-October, Luke began experiencing symptoms associated with chronic illness and after seeking medical attention, he was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer called Medulloblastoma. He has since had several procedures and undergone rounds of aggressive chemotherapy with the goal of shrinking cancer tumors and preventing further spread. The treatment has been grueling for Luke and his parents, Sean and Phylicia, as they sit at his bedside and work hard to keep him comforted, and in good spirits. Luke is a fighter and is surrounded by strong support that will continue to fight for his well-being. The road ahead is long and there is still a lot that is unknown about his treatment plan, but we will continue to provide updates as we learn more.

The McCann family has been grateful for all of the love and support they have received from the community as they navigate Luke’s diagnosis. For the gifts, the meals, the care for Jackson and Patrick that the baseball community has provided, the donations we have already received, we are so grateful.

At this point in time, we are unsure of what financial impacts this journey will have. Donations will be utilized to help cover medical expenses and associated costs, and the goal established is an estimate of annual out of pocket medical costs. This page was set up in response to the overwhelming amount of offers to support Luke and his ongoing care. The whole family has been humbled by the generosity of family, friends, and community. Thank you all so much for encouraging us to stay strong and push forward for Luke.
