Sydney Marsden, known to friends and family as Syd, suffered a severe heart attack on January 22, 2026 while shoveling his snow at his home in Auburn, NY. His care involved two transfers between hospitals, one including a flight, and tireless efforts by medical staff until his until his unfortunate passing on January 31, 2026.

Syd was an incredibly friendly, loving, and helpful man. He was always willing to lend a hand to whoever needed his help. He was a veteran who served our country for 21 years in the United States Coast Guard. He was also involved in the Antique Classical Boat Society for many years. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters Kim and Katelyn, who are shocked and heartbroken over his sudden passing.
