Support for the Liwanag Family - In Eric’s Memory

We are devastated to share Eric Liwanag passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 14th.

Iskwelahang Pilipino had a music and dance performance at the Discovery Museum in Acton. In the evening, Eric and a small group of friends played Filipino music during the cocktail hour at the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence gala. It was during this performance, Eric collapsed and was not able to be revived in spite of receiving care almost immediately. We don’t have answers yet as to what caused the collapse but he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His last day was full of music, friends, and laughter; and he spent his final moments doing what he loved most.

This fundraiser is being set up by friends, to collect funds to ease any financial burden for Joanna during this time, so she can focus on caring for herself and her family.

10/17 UPDATE:

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at The Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster Street. Melrose, MA.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Herbert Street, Melrose. Interment will be private. Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend.
